Learn everything you need to know about the International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC) programme and what it can bring to cities and regions.
As the second phase of the International Urban Cooperation programme (IUC) (2017-2020), IURC aims to lead and develop a form of decentralised international urban and regional cooperation in the fields of sustainable urban development and innovation, in key partner countries and regions in line with the external dimension of “Europe 2020.”
Cities and regions across the EU will be able to cooperate with over 300 local and sub-national governments and their stakeholders (business, academia, civil society) in an international network encompassing four geographical areas: Austral Asia, China, Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America.
In this first IURC webinar you will be able to hear how to become part of the IURC network and get involved in the programme through city-to-city cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development and region-to-region cooperation in the field of innovation.

“Mannheim [Rhein-Neckar] – Chongqing Center” Opening Ceremony
SinoSwiss TechnoparkNo. 5 Pinghe Road, Liangjiang New Area, ChongqingThe inauguration of the Mannheim (Rhein-Neckar)-Chongqing Center will take place on 21st May. The Center connects the European metropolitan region Rhine-Neckar with the Chinese urban region Chongqing, one of the largest cities in the world.
Mannheim and Chongqing have maintained a lasting relationship as IUC pairing cities under the EU-China Regional Policy Dialogue since 2017. The operating agencies of Mannheim (Rhein-Neckar)-Chongqing Center co-signed the cooperation agreement last year.
